I am very glad you have chosen to join Peerless. We are thrilled to have new members each day, and to talk with you about the subjects on this forum. As much as we love to have you here though, we must set down some rules. These will help keep order in the forums, and ensure you and others are comfortable at Peerless. I will list the basic forum rules here, and post others applying to different categories in different threads. These are the rules you must follow. 1) No Flaming -Nobody wants to hear someone whine and argue just because they don't get what they want. Flaming can also toy with peoples emotions. Depending on the hurtfullness of the post, consequences of flaming can range from a warning to a permanent ban. For example: If you said "You suck," I would probably give you a warning. If you said "You suck and deserve to die a horrible death, and so does your mom." That would cause me to give you a permanent ban, even if they "deserved" it. 2) No Trolling -This goes right along with flaming. Trolling is making a post/thread just to start an arguement. Punishments range the same as flaming. For example: Making a thread that says "I hate Jewish people." This kind of thread would result in an immediate ban. Like I have said before, speak your mind, but do it in a way that will not offend anyone. 3) No Spamming -Spamming is basically posting just to raise post count. Spamming includes one word posting, unreadable gibberish, replying to your own posts (double-posting), bump posts, etc. You will get a warning each time you spam. This rule also goes for in game guild chat. Do not keep messaging random things. Noone wants to hear it. For example: Say someone makes a thread that tells how they love Mages, and gives details as to why they think it is so great. Someone who spams would reply to this post saying something like "Yeah, that's a cool job." This reply gives no information or detail, and is considered spam. 4) No Pornographic or Adult Matierial. -Of ANY kind. Even for artistic purposes, none of this is allowed on Peerless. That pretty much somes that rule up. Posting this will give you a temporary-Permanent ban, depending on the situation. For example: Heh, nice try 5) Forum Talk -I am conjoining 3 rules into one here, because they are both on the same subject. One of them is cursing. I am not completely opposed to it, but consistantly cursing 'like a sailor' will get you a warning. Also, I do not want to see posts completely in the world renown 'l33t' talk. I don't want to spend a half an hour trying to read your post. Lastly, try to spell out words in a post, rather than shortening them. You can spend the extra few seconds typing something out. I'll let it go sometimes, but others I will give you a warning. For example- Cursing: $hit, I don't want F%&*ing posts like this D@mn it l33t Speak: H3LpZoRz!!! Shortening: I dnt lik wen u do dis 6) Do not request to be moved up a rank - If we like you, and we believe you've contributed much to the forums and guild, we'll pick you. That simple. Do not think these are all the rules. I will add more when I see needed. For now, just use common sense. |
